2024 TERROIR SERIES
GAMAY NOIR
From a single block of estate-grown Gamay Noir, hand-harvested from certified organic and biodynamic Oak Island Vineyard in Avonport. Situated along the shores of the Minas Basin, this site benefits from cooling breezes that moderate the growing environment and impart freshness, energy, and a distinctive tidal influence.
Fermentation was 90% whole cluster with carbonic maceration and indigenous yeasts. The wine was gently pressed with a traditional Marzola basket press and aged for nine months in stainless steel. Full malolactic fermentation occurred prior to bottling, which took place
without sterile filtration, preserving natural texture and vitality.

TASTING NOTES:
The 2024 vintage of our estate Gamay Noir shows the hallmark brightness and purity of this variety, with an added layer of ripeness and depth from a warmer growing season. Aromas of red and black cherry, wild strawberry, and raspberry are lifted by hints of violet, baking spice, and subtle earth. The palate is vibrant yet notably more structured than previous vintages - our most structured Gamay to date - showing fine-grained tannins,
generous fruit, and a savoury mineral edge. A lively acidity keeps the wine fresh and energetic, while the riper vintage translates into a longer, more persistent finish.
Pairing suggestions include charcuterie & pâté, roast chicken or duck breast, grilled lamb chops, mushroom risotto or hearty vegetable stew and wood-fired pizza.
